Laura Kay

Profile

Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2006 after studying at the College of Law Guildford and the University of Liverpool. She has since worked for Shoosmiths and BP Collins solicitors before joining Barker Gillette in March 2010.

Laura is an active hockey player having played National League for a number of years and now spends a lot of time coaching Middlesex juniors. Laura’s competitive streak is shown in her love for all sports and her desire to win. She is currently found pounding the pavements of Surrey training for the London 2010 Marathon.

Expertise

Laura practices commercial and civil litigation and specialises in property litigation, contested and portfolio work, and construction litigation. Her experience ranges from business tenant default, exit strategies, leasehold disputes, dilapidations, possession claims and squatter actions, boundary disputes and rights of way matters. In the recent climate Laura has spent considerable time developing her expertise regarding insolvency and property matters, failure to complete in the current market, agency disputes and negligence claims against surveyors, builders and estate agents.

In addition Laura deals with shareholder disputes, insolvency matters both personal and commercial, debt recovery and negligence matters.

Laura is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
