Born in 1951, Michael Davies was educated at Downside and, after graduating in Law at London University, trained at Martin & Nicholson in the Temple. Shortly after qualifying in 1976, he seized the opportunity to set up his own partnership where he remained until he joined Barker Gillette in 2000 as its senior partner.
Michael is a property lawyer of the "Old School" - of conveyancing he says,
"...until they become involved, most people consider conveyancing as routine, humdrum and something anyone can do. Not so, as there are a number of pitfalls both in residential and commercial conveyancing which the unwary discover only to their cost. There is no conveyor-belt philosophy at Barker Gillette. Whether I am acting in the purchase of a house, on the grant of a lease of a shop, the sale of a business or the acquistion of an hotel, I give each matter the same high level of importance with the client recieving a full report relating to the transaction in which she or he is involved."
Michael is also fluent in Italian, acting for a number of private and commercial Italian clients
Too many to mention in the sense of achievement for the clients rather than in terms of notoriety although one of my biggest (and costly ) cases did arrive at the wrong airport.
