Barker Gillette LLP is a law firm which operates from offices in the West End of London W1 where it was established in 1981. We are a commercial and business crime practice and, simply stated, our objective is to look after our clients’ best interests with the emphasis being on quality.
Barker Gillette LLP is a limited liability partnership with nine partners which operates in the fields of company/commercial; crime/serious fraud; dispute resolution/commercial litigation; employment; property and sports law.
We started up in the West End of London some 30 years ago and have avoided the temptation to evolve into a city type practice or to adopt practices which one associates with a legal factory. We pride ourselves on having partners who are accessible to clients and have experience and flair not just in narrow specialist fields but also in wider background areas.
Partners and staff are encouraged to be friendly informal and professional both to clients and other firms. We understand that there are many circumstances where a strong and robust stance has to be maintained but equally there are many legal situations where more can be achieved by developing common ground and arriving at a sensible compromise.
We are very aware that to maintain and increase our market share we must first and foremost look after our existing clients. Our business has grown on the back of client recommendations. We pride ourselves on preserving good client relationships and if a client wants a partner to deal with a matter from start to finish, his or her wish is paramount.
Some of our partners have represented sportsmen and celebrities who have found themselves on the front pages of newspapers and in the full glare of television cameras in cases we are conducting. We have the experience that is required to deal with the media circus. However the majority of our business is spent delivering legal solutions as quietly and as quickly as the circumstances permit.
